The properties of the alloy include two aspects: service performance and process performance. Service performance is the general requirement of casting service conditions on alloy, including physical, mechanical and chemical properties. As for process properties, for die casting, according to the process characteristics of die casting, the alloy used for die casting should have the following properties:
(1) With good liquid fluidity, it is easy to fill complex cavities to obtain die-casting parts with good surface quality.
(2) It has sufficient strength and plasticity at high temperature.
(3) The shrinkage rate is small to avoid the deformation and crack of the casting during demoulding and help to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the die casting.
(4) The crystallization temperature range is small to prevent excessive shrinkage and porosity of die castings.
(5) It is less corrosive to the mold cavity.
